Miyapur Police crack hospital theft case, Recover 7 Tolas Gold

Miyapur police arrested a woman involved in a series of thefts at a private hospital in Madinaguda and recovered around 7 tolas of gold ornaments. The accused, identified as J. Durga (45), a resident of Shivaji Nagar, Chandanagar, was working as housekeeping staff at the hospital.

According to Detective Inspector Ramesh Naidu, the accused targeted patient attendants by taking advantage of their negligence. On February 25, a software engineer from Aparna Hill Park, Chandanagar, had admitted his wife to the SICU. During the night, between 8:51 pm and 8:56 pm, Durga allegedly entered the room and stole 3 tolas gold chain, 3 tolas bangles, one tola earrings, and about 3 tolas silver articles from a bag kept inside. The theft was discovered the next morning, and a complaint was lodged.

Police examined CCTV footage and found the accused entering the room suspiciously and avoiding security checks after duty hours. Acting on technical evidence, police detained her from her residence, where she confessed to the crime. About 7 tolas of gold and 2.5 tolas of silver were recovered.
