Missamma Opened New store in Vijayawada

Hyderabad, 29 July 2026: Missamma has announced the opening of its 19th store in Vijayawada, its second location in the city, alongside the launch of a festive showcase featuring traditional drapes associated with different regions of India.

The twin launch comes as the festive calendar begins with Aashadam and continues through celebrations such as Bonalu, Varalakshmi Vratham, Onam, Ganesh Chaturthi, Bathukamma, Navaratri, Dussehra and Diwali. Across these occasions, the traditional drape continues to hold an important place in religious rituals, family customs, gifting and festive gatherings.India’s festive dressing does not follow one common style. Each region has its own preferences in colour, fabric, motifs, borders and the way a drape is worn for an occasion.

Missamma’s festive showcase reflects this variety through collections connected to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The curation includes Mangalagiri and Venkatagiri styles from Andhra Pradesh, Gadwal traditions associated with Telangana, Kanchi-inspired designs from Tamil Nadu, Mysore styles from Karnataka, Banarasi traditions from Uttar Pradesh and Kota drapes from Rajasthan. These are presented alongside contemporary festive designs suited to the changing preferences of customers.

“Festivals are often the time when people return to the drapes they grew up seeing at home and within their communities. The intention behind this showcase is not to present every regional tradition as one common festive look. A Gadwal, a Kanchi, a Banarasi or a Kota each has its own character. We want customers to understand those differences and choose according to their tradition, occasion and personal style,” said Dileep Goli, Founder, Missamma.

The showcase has been planned around the different occasions that take place between Aashadam and Diwali. It includes options for pujas, traditional ceremonies, family gatherings, weddings and larger evening celebrations. While classic festive styles remain central to the collection, the curation also features lighter textures, updated colour combinations and versatile drapes that can be styled in different ways.
