Iran will Determine the Endgame: Ram Madhav

US is currently struggling to find a viable exit strategy. Their objectives have shifted from entirely replacing the government to merely altering its behavior

Ram Madhav, President of the New Delhi based India Foundation and a key BJP leader opined that Iran, rather than the United States or Israel, will ultimately dictate the conclusion of their ongoing military conflict. He said that while the American administration initially employed a strategy of unpredictability to force global powers into submission, Tehran has successfully countered this approach.

Ram Madhav felt that the military campaign initiated by Washington and Jerusalem, which aimed for a complete overthrow of the Iranian government, has stalled. Although the allied forces succeeded in eliminating senior leaders, he said the Iranian regime has not collapsed and continues to mount a remarkably strong asymmetric defense.

Furthermore, he felt the US is currently struggling to find a viable exit strategy. Their objectives have shifted from entirely replacing the government to merely altering its behavior. He said earlier claims about Iran losing its nuclear capabilities have proven completely false. The US is now demanding the removal of highly enriched uranium, indicating that Iran successfully concealed its stockpiles. According to Madhav, this clearly demonstrates that starting a war is far easier than ending one.

Ram Madhav opined that the conflict is generating severe global consequences, particularly by triggering a worldwide energy emergency. He felt Iran has achieved a major strategic victory by forcing the US to the negotiating table. Conversely, he said America has faced a significant diplomatic failure by relying on Pakistan, a state known for lawlessness, for mediation.

Finally, he felt India has wisely chosen to maintain strategic neutrality. However, he questioned whether this stance is sufficient, suggesting that major global powers must take a more proactive role in preventing disputes from escalating into full scale wars.
