ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad, is hosting a two-day International Colloquium on “Oceans, Accountability and Global Governance: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on the Law of the Sea” on August 18 and 19. The event brings together scholars, legal experts, academicians and other stakeholders to discuss contemporary issues concerning oceans, international law, accountability and global governance.
The inaugural ceremony was held on August 18 at the FST Auditorium, IFHE. Prof. (Dr.) Y. Pratap Reddy, Dean, ICFAI Law School, welcomed the guests and participants, while Prof. (Dr.) P. Ravisekhararaju, Director, ICFAI Law School, outlined the academic significance of the colloquium.
Prof. (Dr.) A. Vinay Kumar, Vice Chancellor, IFHE, delivered the presidential remarks. Registrar Prof. (Dr.) S. Vijayalakshmi also attended the ceremony and extended her support for the initiative. Mr. Pranav Raina, Founding & Managing Partner, Vachaspatey Partners, New Delhi, was the Guest of Honour, while Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor, Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, delivered the inaugural address.
The colloquium focuses on emerging legal and governance challenges relating to oceans and the Law of the Sea, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue and scholarly exchange. Dr. Sayan Das, Coordinator, CLRPS, has played a key role in academic coordination. The inaugural ceremony concluded with the felicitation of the dignitaries, a Vote of Thanks by Anwesha Panigrahi, Co-Convener.
