Declaring that the Congress government under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is ushering in a new era of social and economic empowerment for the underprivileged, Nalgonda district in-charge Minister and SC, ST Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar asserted that the Indiramma Housing scheme must emerge as a benchmark model in the erstwhile Nalgonda district.
The Minister stated that a house for a poor family is not merely a shelter, but a symbol of dignity, security and social stability. He observed that the Telangana government is moving ahead with a comprehensive strategy aimed at eliminating rural poverty through welfare-driven governance, housing security and transparent land administration reforms.
Adluri Laxman Kumar was speaking during the high-level review meeting on Housing and Revenue matters held at the Housing Corporation Headquarters on Thursday under the chairmanship of Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.
The meeting was attended by Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, former MLA Vakati Srihari, Planning Board Vice-Chairman G. Chinna Reddy, Government Advisor Jitender Reddy, along with MLAs and public representatives from Bhongir, Nakrekal, Tungaturthi, Kodad, Nalgonda, Aleru, Miryalaguda and Devarakonda constituencies. District collectors and senior officials from the Revenue, Housing and Forest departments also participated in the review.
Addressing the officials, Adluri Laxman Kumar directed the district administration to ensure that the benefits of the Indiramma Housing Scheme reach every genuinely eligible poor family without discrimination or delay.
He emphasised that special priority must be accorded to SCs, STs, BCs, minorities, persons with disabilities, single women and other vulnerable sections of society.
The Minister instructed collectors to ensure timely release of subsequent instalments to beneficiaries who had already received the first phase of housing assistance, so that construction works progress without interruption.
He underlined that close coordination between elected representatives and officials at the grassroots level would significantly accelerate grievance redressal and implementation efficiency.
Observing that education, employment and housing security together have the power to transform the destiny of poor families, Adluri Laxman Kumar said the Revanth Reddy government is pursuing integrated welfare policies with a long-term vision for inclusive growth and social justice.
On land administration reforms, the Minister stressed that the Revenue and Forest departments must work in complete coordination to resolve long-pending land disputes. Greater transparency and accuracy in land records, he said, would pave the way for permanent solutions to rural land conflicts that have persisted for decades.
He further warned that there would be zero tolerance towards corruption or irregularities in the implementation of the Indiramma Housing Scheme. Officials were directed to function with utmost accountability and transparency so that only deserving beneficiaries receive government assistance.
Adluri Laxman Kumar asserted that every official must discharge their duties with commitment and integrity to further strengthen public confidence in the government and its welfare agenda.
