Home Minister visits Tirumala, seeks funds for Upamaka Temple

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha visited Tirumala on Monday. She participated in the seva of the lord during the VIP break darshan. After the darshan, she held a meeting with TTD Chairman B R Naidu at the chairman's office.The  Minister requested TTD chairman B R Naidu to allocate funds for the development of the Lord Venkateshwara temple in Upamaka village of Anakapalli district which falls in her constituency.

In 2017, the temple was handed over to TTD. The Home Minister brought to the notice of the Chairman that no funds have been allocated for development so far. The TTD chairman responded positively to the home minister's request. He also promised to allocate funds for the development of Upamaka temple soon.

"Upamaka temple in Payakaraopeta constituency was handed over to TTD in 2017. The then government has prepared a master plan for the development of the temple and even started the process of land acquisition. The chairman has called the TTD chief engineer and directed him to prepare a report regarding the development works. Brahmotsavams will be conducted on the 10th of March and more than a lakh of devotees are expected to visit the temple”.
