GITAM hosts lecture on emerging nano /quantum materials

GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, hosted a guest lecture on “Designing of New Emerging Nano/Quantum Materials, Innovation and Indigenous Technology Development for Atmanirbhar Bharat” by Dr. Bipin Kumar Gupta, Scientist-G, CSIR–National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi. The program was jointly organized by the Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (EECE), School of Core Engineering; and Centre for Semiconductor & Quantum Technologies jointly. 

Dr. Gupta introduced students to the fundamentals of nanomaterials, emerging two-dimensional (2D) materials and quantum materials, highlighting their size-dependent properties and potential applications.

He traced the evolution of quantum materials research and discussed how advances in nano/quantum technologies can contribute to healthcare, biomedical imaging, pharmaceuticals, communications, public security and anti-counterfeiting technologies. 

He encouraged students to develop scientific curiosity, pursue their goals with determination, and contribute to the development of indigenous technologies that can strengthen India’s technological self-reliance. Dr. Shantanu Saha, the Chairperson of the Centre for Semiconductor & Quantum Technologies was the convener and of this program and conducted the session with the support of Director of GSCE Prof. V. Ramesh and HoD of EECE Prof. Prasantha R. Mudimela.
