Telangana has extended its support to Ghana's industrial development initiatives, particularly in the pharmaceuticals and life sciences sectors, with Industries and Information Technology Minister D. Sridhar Babu assuring cooperation for the establishment of a pharmaceutical manufacturing hub in the West African nation.
The assurance was conveyed during a meeting held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Wednesday, with a high level Ghanaian delegation led by Presidential Advisor Augustus Obuadum Tano. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exploring opportunities for collaboration in industrial development, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and economic transformation.
During the meeting, the Ghanaian delegation briefed the Minister on Ghana's flagship 24 Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme, as well as its plans to establish a Pharma Hub to boost manufacturing capacity and exports.
Sridhar Babu outlined Telangana's emergence as a leading investment destination in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, electronics, aerospace, food processing, defence and advanced manufacturing. He attributed the State's rapid industrial progress to its industry-friendly policies, robust infrastructure and ease of doing business framework.
The Minister said Telangana was willing to share its expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing, research and development, vaccine production, life sciences innovation and global supply chain management. He assured the Ghanaian delegation that Telangana would be a dependable partner in supporting Ghana's industrial expansion and economic transformation efforts.
Both sides also discussed avenues for knowledge sharing and potential partnerships in pharmaceuticals, life sciences and industrial development. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with Telangana and Ghana expressing keen interest in deepening economic cooperation and building long term collaborative partnerships that would benefit both regions.
