‘Future City master plan to be unveiled at Global Summit’

Telangana will unveil the comprehensive master plan for its upcoming 'Future City' during the Invest Telangana Global Summit in December 2026, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Thursday.

Speaking at the Praja Palana Dinotsavam (People’s Governance Day) after unfurling the National Flag at Public Gardens, Nampally, the Chief Minister outlined major global tech commitments driving the mega-project. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has pledged Rs 70,000 crore to construct India’s largest AI data center in Future City, while Amazon has already begun construction on a separate Rs 1 lakh crore data center hub.

"We are developing the Future City featuring specialised zones, including the Young India Skills University, a Life Sciences Hub, an EV Park, an AI City, a Health City, and an Education City,"  Revanth Reddy said.

The Chief Minister highlighted several key infrastructure projects designed to turn Telangana into an economic powerhouse, including the Regional Ring Road, greenfield expressways, dry ports, and strategic industrial corridors linking Hyderabad with Nagpur, Bengaluru, and Vijayawada.

To strengthen state-wide transport links, the government has grounded road construction projects worth Rs 13,000 crore under the Roads & Buildings Department, along with Rs 6,294 crore under the Panchayat Raj Department. The initiative aims to provide continuous connectivity from rural villages and mandals to district headquarters and the state capital, the Chief Minister said.

Revanth Reddy emphasised that Telangana’s per capita income has reached Rs 4,18,931 — approximately 91% higher than the national average. "Our primary goal is to ensure development is reflected not just in statistics, but in the everyday lives of our citizens," he noted.

Addressing environmental and utility challenges, the Chief Minister acknowledged current rainfall deficits linked to El Niño and the corresponding surge in power demand. Revanth Reddy assured the public that contingency planning is underway to guarantee uninterrupted drinking water and electricity supplies across the state. Additionally, the government is working to expand workdays under rural employment guarantee schemes to support affected local communities, he added.
