Future City emerging as India’s Next Global Growth Hub: Ministers

The Telangana government is moving ahead rapidly with the development of “Future City” as a world class global urban centre, State IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said on Thursday.

The ministers visited the prestigious Future City project area on the outskirts of Hyderabad and inspected the under construction office building of the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) along with the ongoing works of the Young India Skills University. They later reviewed the progress of the projects with officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sridhar Babu said the government was implementing the Future City project with a clear vision to create an internationally benchmarked global city. He stated that every decision and development activity in the project was being aligned with global standards and modern infrastructure requirements.

The minister said a decision would soon be taken regarding the inauguration of the FCDA office by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on June 2 or June 3. He added that plans were already underway to establish a Police Commissionerate and several key government offices in Future City, giving the project a strong global and administrative presence.

Sridhar Babu also highlighted the government’s focus on skill development through the Young India Skills University, which was established to equip youth with world class skills and employment opportunities.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said Future City was emerging as a landmark project not only for Telangana but for the entire country. He stated that the primary objective of the project was to generate large scale employment and job security for lakhs of youth.

The ministers later inspected the construction works of the Young India Skills University and directed officials to accelerate the pace of development works.
