Former Singareni CMD N. Balaram was honoured on Sunday in a civic felicitation event, where retired Principal Secretary Kaki Madhav Rao praised him as a guiding figure for society. The event, organized by the Singareni Employees & Citizens Forum, was held at Suravaram Pratapa Reddy Auditorium.
Kaki Madhav Rao said, “Even after reaching the highest positions, it is important to remember one’s roots and step forward to serve society and the underprivileged.” He highlighted Balaram’s leadership in taking Singareni to new heights while supporting those striving at lower levels.
Balaram, who led major financial and operational reforms at Singareni, expressed gratitude to the state Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for providing him the opportunity to serve the company. He also shared his vision of expanding Singareni nationwide, generating employment, and ensuring long-term sustainability in mining, power, and renewable energy projects.
Several dignitaries, including retired IAS and IRS officers, former ministers, MLCs, union leaders, and social activists, spoke about Balaram’s contributions. They noted his role in increasing turnover from Rs 22,882 crore to Rs 37,000 crore, boosting gross profit from Rs 2,845 crore to Rs 8,456 crore, raising net worth from Rs 8,421 crore to Rs 24,100 crore, and enhancing LIC investments from Rs 2,000 crore to Rs 8,932 crore. His environmental initiatives, including planting 20,000 trees, were also recognized.
The event drew employees and community representatives from multiple Singareni regions, making it a successful tribute to his enduring legacy.
