MLC Somu Veerraju said that the Bharatiya Janata Party was an organization that emerged for the nation. He said that Bandaru Dattatreya’s life story was an ideal for everyone and added that His services during the Diviseema cyclone were unforgettable. “Living in a very small house, he conducted himself as a man of the people. Dattatreya has been extremely loyal to his work and to the people. In united Andhra Pradesh in 1991, Dattatreya won as an MP from the BJP.

MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that In politics, along with posts, there were also rivals and noted that Bandaru Dattatreya was a leader,  who had no enemies despite being in politics. “Participating in Alai Balai is an honour for those, who attend it . A programme like Alai Balai should also be organized in North Andhra. All political leaders should be brought together on one platform,” he said.

Addressing the gathering, Former Governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that Politics and business were not for profit but they were very sacred. He also said that Politics means only public service and added that he never imagined that he would enter politics. “Whoever is in power, one must serve the people. Even in today’s politics, there are leaders with high ideals and values. But day by day, the values in politics are declining,” he said.

Odisha Governor Kambhampati Hari Babu said that Bandaru Dattatreya was a great person, who rose from among the people. “Insults, hardships and pains could not stop his success. Dattatreya’s efforts to protect democracy are an inspiration for future generations. His services during the Diviseema cyclone were immense. When Dattatreya was Union Minister, he provided necessary funds for Visakhapatnam. While serving as Governor, he lived among the people, not confined within the walls of Raj Bhavan,” the Governor recalled.
