The Hyderabad Traffic Police, in coordination with Chengomul Police in Vikarabad district, detected and booked a man for allegedly using a fake vehicle registration number plate to evade traffic challans.
Police identified the accused as Md. Khayyum (46), a resident of Manneguda in Pudur mandal of Vikarabad district. During verification, officials found that he had been using fake registration number AP28DK4592 on his Hero Honda Passion Plus motorcycle instead of the original number AP28AZ1087.

Based on the findings, Chengomul Police registered a case under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita read with Section 80(a) of the Motor Vehicles Act. Police issued notice to the accused under Section 35(3) of BNSS.
Traffic police warned that fake or tampered number plates are serious offences and violators will face strict action.
