CS directs authorities to distribute school uniforms by Aug 25

Telangana Chief Secretary (CS) Sanjay Jaju has directed district authorities to ensure that two sets of school uniforms are distributed to students studying in government schools and residential educational institutions by August 25.

Chairing a video conference with district collectors, additional collectors and officials from the Education, Rural Development, Agriculture and other departments on Friday, Sanjay Jaju reviewed the progress of uniform distribution, the kharif cropping season and the prevailing seasonal conditions.

The Chief Secretary said that arrangements should be made for taking students' measurements and ensuring that master tailors and women from Self-Help Groups are provided with the necessary support to stitch the uniforms efficiently. Reviewing the agricultural situation, the Chief Secretary advised officials to encourage farmers to opt for alternative rainfed crops in view of the anticipated El Niño conditions.

He suggested promoting the cultivation of pulses, green gram and vegetables as alternatives to paddy wherever suitable.  He also directed officials to remain vigilant against seasonal diseases and strengthen preventive measures. Following the video conference, Rangareddy District Collector C. Narayana Reddy held a review meeting with district officials and instructed them to prepare and implement a clear action plan for production of uniforms in every mandal.

He directed officials to closely monitor every stage, including fabric receipt, bulk cutting, individual cutting based on students' measurements, stitching, quality inspection and delivery to schools. He also called for stronger coordination among Mandal Education Officers, Assistant Project Managers, headmasters and School Management Committees to ensure smooth implementation.
