Corporate Badminton Championship Season 2 Begins

Hyderabad, May 2026: In an effort to encourage physical fitness, mental wellness, and a healthy work-life balance among corporate professionals, the Corporate Badminton Championship Season 2 was inaugurated at the Pullela Gopichand Academy in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.The prestigious championship was formally inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Ramesh, Padma Shri awardee and renowned badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, TV9 Network COO Vikram, TV9 Network CRO Amit Tripathi, and Generali Life Insurance Vice President & South India Head Vikas.

Addressing the gathering, IPS Commissioner of Police Ramesh emphasized the growing importance of sports and physical activities in today’s fast-paced corporate world. He stated that both children and working professionals are increasingly leading busy and stressful lives, making physical fitness and mental well-being more essential than ever. He encouraged parents to motivate children to actively participate in sports and other physical activities to help them stay healthy and away from negative influences.

The championship has attracted enthusiastic participation from employees representing several leading corporate organizations, including Microsoft, Amazon, Infosys, Google, Tata Consultancy Services, Dell, Accenture, Larsen & Toubro, Pegasystems, Deloitte, Oracle, My Home Group, Schrodinger, PwC, JPMorgan Chase, HCLTech, Cult.fit, Maha Cement, Mphasis, Uber, and The Times of India. The tournament will be conducted over a span of three days.

Speaking on the occasion, Pullela Gopichand highlighted the increasing work pressure faced by corporate employees and stressed the importance of maintaining physical activity alongside professional commitments. He noted that lack of exercise and unhealthy lifestyles are contributing to rising health concerns among employees in the corporate sector.

He further stated that initiatives such as the Corporate Badminton Championship play a significant role in reducing stress, promoting fitness, and encouraging a healthier lifestyle.Gopichand also expressed his happiness over the support and participation extended by several reputed corporate organizations in association with the academy. TV9 Network COO Vikram stated that it was encouraging to witness corporate organizations and sports institutions coming together to promote wellness through sports.
