‘Congress party is obstructing women empowerment’

Union Minister Kishan Reddy  on Sunday participated as the Chief Guest in the concluding celebrations of Ambedkar Jayanti held at Jaya Garden in Somajiguda of the city.

Addressing a gathering on this occasion, he  alleged that the  Congress party was trampling upon the empowerment of women, who constitute half of the country's population, as well as the ideals of Ambedkar and added that By obstructing the Women's Reservation amendment Bill, the Congress party had inflicted a grave injustice upon 70 crore women and Dalits. “For decades, the Congress party has stood as a barrier, preventing women, Dalits and tribal communities from entering legislative bodies.

In the matter of the Reservation Bill, the BRS party also neglected its responsibilities and misled the public. The Congress party is acting in direct contradiction to Ambedkar's ideology and had the constitutional amendments proceeded smoothly, the current allocation of 84 SC seats could have potentially increased to over 140. Leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy, and Stalin are engaging in misguided propaganda, falsely claiming that South India is being subjected to injustice regarding the delimitation of constituencies,” he alleged.

Reddy said that Prime Minister Modi's resolve was to increase the number of the seats uniformly across all states without any discrimination against any specific region and added that During 50 years of Congress party’s rule, the Backward Classes (BCs) were completely forgotten and claimed that the  credit for conducting a census of the Backward Classes—a first since independence—goes solely to Prime Minister Modi.

“The BJP does not merely offer empty rhetoric but it also delivers on its promises through action. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Telangana state for the first time since assuming office for his third consecutive term. This visit is set to chart a new course for the state's development. Projects and development works worth Rs 7,000 crores are set to be launched.
