The Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday met with members of the Peace Talks Committee at his residence in Jubilee Hills. The delegation, led by Committee Convener Justice Chandrakumar and comprising Professor Haragopal, Professor Anwar Khan, Durga Prasad, Jampanna, and Ravi Chander, submitted a petition requesting the State Government to appeal to the Central Government to initiate peace talks with the Maoists and advocate for a ceasefire.

During the meeting, Chief Minister assured the delegation that his government views Naxalism from a social perspective rather than merely a law and order issue. He emphasized the importance of dialogue in addressing underlying issues and acknowledged the valuable experience of senior leader Jana Reddy, who had previously engaged in talks with Naxalites. The Chief Minister stated that he would seek Jana Reddy’s advice and suggestions and consult with his cabinet ministers before taking a final decision on the matter. The government remains committed to fostering peace through meaningful dialogue and social understanding, CM stressed.
