Former Minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao on Saturday criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for taking credit for development projects executed during the previous BRS government. Speaking to reporters at his Siddipet camp office, Rao accused the current administration of showing bias against Siddipet by halting ongoing initiatives and failing to sanction any new projects in the last two and a half years.

Harish Rao said all projects inaugurated during the Chief Minister’s visit were planned, funded, and completed under the BRS regime. “The effort is ours, but the credit is being claimed by Revanth Reddy. While his name may appear on foundation stones, the people of Siddipet will remember K. Chandrasekhar Rao,” he stated.

He highlighted the Rs 300 crore oil palm factory at Narmetta as a BRS initiative. The land, spanning 62 acres, was acquired through TGIIC, farmers were encouraged to cultivate oil palm, and necessary infrastructure, including water supply, was developed during the previous government. Rao noted that the factory relies on Kaleshwaram project waters, which the Chief Minister had earlier criticised but is now dependent upon.

Several health infrastructure projects inaugurated recently, Rao said, were also completed during his tenure as Health Minister. He further accused the government of cancelling development works worth Rs 1,070 crore in Siddipet, calling it an act of political vendetta.

In a pointed criticism, Harish Rao alleged that the Veterinary College project, which had begun in Siddipet, was shifted to Kodangal constituency. He said such actions reflect neglect and bias against Siddipet, depriving the area of much-needed development.

Rao concluded by urging the government to continue ongoing projects and refrain from politicising development. He stressed that while the present administration may try to claim credit, the people of Siddipet are aware of the groundwork laid by the BRS.
