Classical concert and Kolatam mark Ganapati Navaratri celebrations

Ganapati Navaratri celebrations organized at the residence of Godi Sathish Reddy and Godi Vijetha Devi at Road No. 65, Jubilee Hills, near the residence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, witnessed an evening of devotion, Carnatic classical music, traditional folk arts and community participation. The celebrations began with daily rituals and pooja, followed by Annadaanam for around 200 people every day.

On the Nimmajjanam day, Annadaanam was extended to nearly 350 people, bringing together residents and devotees from the surrounding areas without any distinction. A major highlight of the celebrations was a Carnatic classical Sangeetha Gana Kacheri by Raaga Music Academy. Godi Vijetha Devi said that this is the fifth year that Ganapati Navaratri is being celebrated.with the blessings of Lord Ganesha, who holds the first place in our prayers.

“Through daily pooja, Annadaanam, classical music and traditional arts, we want the younger generation to experience our culture through practice and participation,” she said. The Vivekananda Kolatam Group from Molgara village in Uppununthala Mandal of Nagarkurnool district presented the traditional performance, adding a folk dimension to the celebrations.  Godi Pitchi Reddy, Godi Padmavathi and other family members also participated in the celebrations. The family has been continuing such festive and cultural celebrations over the years, keeping alive the traditions of devotion, community gathering, Annadaanam and cultural expression.
