Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the Family Benefit Management System (FBMS) during a meeting held in his chamber at the State Assembly, directing officials to expedite the creation of a comprehensive family database aimed at improving the efficiency and transparency of welfare delivery.

During the review, the Chief Minister instructed officials to build a detailed database covering every household in the state using 26 key attributes. These include Family ID, Aadhaar number, Rice Card ID, educational qualifications, occupation, mobile number, address, agricultural land holdings, and urban and rural property details. The proposed database, officials said, is intended to serve as a unified platform to streamline government welfare schemes and ensure that benefits reach eligible beneficiaries without duplication or leakages.

Naidu emphasized the need to integrate information from multiple government departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of the database. He directed officials to compile and synchronize data from various departments and systems, including SGSW, DISCOMs, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) department, Webland, Vahan, HRMS, CBDT, Panchayat Raj, and Markfed.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that around 82 percent of the required data has already been compiled, and efforts are underway to expand and verify the database further. They expressed confidence that 90 percent of the database would be ready by April 30.

However, Naidu stressed that merely collecting data is not sufficient and called for full integration of databases across all government departments. Such consolidation, he said, would enhance accuracy, eliminate inconsistencies, and enable more effective governance.

“The objective is to create a reliable and comprehensive family database that will allow the government to deliver welfare benefits efficiently and transparently,” the Chief Minister said during the meeting.

Naidu also reiterated that the government’s long-term goal is to provide a Family Card to every household in Andhra Pradesh, which would serve as a single identification framework for accessing government services and welfare schemes. He directed officials to work systematically toward achieving this objective and ensure that the database becomes a robust foundation for citizen-centric governance.
