The Central Government has approved the appointment of three Additional Judges to the Andhra Pradesh High Court, strengthening the state’s judicial system. The appointments were cleared with the approval of the President of India, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal announced.
The newly appointed Additional Judges are Sunita Gandham, Alapati Giridhar, and Purushotham Kumar Chintalapudi. The Centre stated that the appointments were made after due consultation with the Chief Justice of India, in accordance with the constitutional procedure.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the three names during its meeting held on May 4 this year. Following scrutiny by the Union Government, the proposal received the President’s approval, paving the way for the appointments.
