CARE Hospitals and Aster Hospitals marked World Patient Safety Day 2026 with a Patient Safety & Wellness Awareness Program across their hospitals in the India II Zone, reinforcing the importance of safer care at every stage of the patient journey. Conducted from September 1 to 17, the program brought together doctors, nurses, hospital staff, patients and caregivers to strengthen awareness around patient safety, prevention and early detection of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), safe disease management and healthier lifestyles.
Rajeev Chourey, Head – Quality & Patient Safety, Cluster II, Aster DM Quality Care Limited, stated that patient safety is not the responsibility of one department or one healthcare professional. Patients and caregivers were also encouraged to take simple but important steps to support safer care — maintain an updated medical history; inform healthcare teams about existing medicines and allergies; ask questions about prescribed treatment and understand medication, discharge and follow-up instructions.
