Senior YSR Congress Party leader and former minister Botsa Satyanarayana has announced that his daughter Anusha will make her electoral debut in the upcoming local body elections, marking the entry of the next generation of the Botsa family into active politics.

Botsa said Anusha would contest the Zilla Parishad elections, signalling the family’s continued political engagement in the State at the grassroots level. The move assumes significance as political parties gear up for local body elections, with the ruling coalition and opposition likely to focus heavily on strengthening their organisational networks at the village and district levels.

The announcement also comes amid renewed political confrontation between the YSRCP and the ruling NDA coalition over the conduct of the ongoing Assembly session. Botsa sharply criticized the coalition government, alleging that it was behaving irresponsibly inside the Assembly while projecting an aggressive posture outside it. He accused the government of adopting an authoritarian approach towards legislative proceedings and said the ruling establishment was failing to uphold parliamentary traditions.

The former minister targeted the government over the Mega DSC recruitment controversy, demanding an immediate CBI investigation into the issue. He also called for the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him responsible for the allegations surrounding the teacher recruitment process. The announcement of Anusha’s candidature adds another political dimension to the Botsa family’s role in the YSRCP. With local elections expected to become a major test of grassroots strength, her entry could assume significance in the party’s efforts to consolidate its presence in the district-level political landscape.
