Bogatha Falls set for tourism boost

Mulugu District Collector Borkhade Hemanth Sahadeorao has directed officials to develop Bogatha Waterfalls in Wazeedu mandal into a major tourist destination by improving infrastructure and setting up an Indira Mahila Shakti Food Court featuring local cuisine.

Chairing a review meeting on Tuesday, the Collector instructed officials to ensure a clean, safe and visitor-friendly environment at the popular tourist spot. He asked departments to provide essential facilities, including drinking water, sanitation, parking, rest areas, security arrangements and proper directional signage to enhance the experience of tourists.

The Collector said the proposed food court should introduce visitors to the region's traditional flavours by serving dishes such as jowar roti, bamboo chicken, country chicken and local fish delicacies. He said the initiative would also create employment and income opportunities for women self-help groups through the Indira Mahila Shakti programme.

Emphasising quality services and promotion of local culture, he urged all departments to work in coordination to develop Bogatha Waterfalls into a model tourism destination in Telangana. Superintendent of Police Sudheer Ramnath Kekan, DFO Vikas Meena, Tourism Officer Shivaji, Additional DRDO Srinivas and other officials attended the meeting.
