N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday accused the Congress, BRS and MIM of jointly misleading Hyderabad residents for political gains. Speaking during the second day of the “Rythu Gosa, BJP Bharosa” yatra in Kukatpally, he alleged that both the previous BRS regime and the present Congress government functioned under the influence of the MIM.
Rao claimed the BRS cheated the poor in the name of double-bedroom houses, while the Congress government was continuing the same “deception” through the Indiramma Housing Scheme. He alleged that incomplete houses built during the previous regime were being showcased as new achievements while welfare measures were delayed.
The BJP leader also opposed the proposed bifurcation of GHMC limits to create a Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, alleging that the move was aimed at politically benefiting the MIM. He said the government lacked clarity on the boundaries and was attempting an “unscientific division” of Hyderabad.
Highlighting civic issues, Rao said Hyderabad was facing a severe drinking water crisis, with several areas receiving supply only once every three or four days. He blamed the Water Board for mismanagement and warned that poor drainage infrastructure could again lead to flooding during heavy rains. He also criticized the poor condition of roads and alleged misuse of flood relief funds during the previous BRS regime.
Rao further alleged that the government’s HILT Policy could trigger a major real estate scam by converting industrial zones into residential areas without studying its impact on jobs and livelihoods. Claiming only the BJP could transform Hyderabad into a world-class city, he urged voters to defeat Congress, BRS and MIM in the upcoming GHMC elections.
