Union Minister Bandi Sanjay today responded to the students’ agitation at Hyderabad Central University. He condemned the actions against the students by the State police. He said lathi-charge on the students was brutal.
Speaking to the media persons on Monday, the Union Minister said there was no person in Telangana society, who was not hurt by the scenes in the media regarding the HCU lands issue and the charge over the students. He said the inhumane detention of the students by the police was brutal. He also said a terrifying atmosphere had been created in HCU. He also said it was painful to see the videos of girls being dragged away by the police. He expressed anger that the controversial lands were being levelled with JCBs at night like thieves. He questioned with what authority the police were going to HCU? He also said it was brutal to stop and arrest the students as they do not want to sell the university lands.
He said everyone was shocked after seeing those videos. He made comments by saying that they will sell the 400 acres of the university’s land and rule the State. He criticized the Congress government for not being in a position to govern the Telangana State if the HCU lands were not sold. He was furious that the State government was in a position to sell the HCU lands. He said the Congress government was not in a position to even keep a yard for future generations. He said all the lands in the State would be sold. He claimed that not only ABVP activists were arrested, but they were also beaten up in the police station.
He alleged that the Congress party was more anarchic than the BRS party. He demanded that the sale of the HCU lands be stopped immediately. He wanted action to be taken against the police who lathi charged the students. He questioned as to why the Education Commission chairman and members did not respond if the HCU lands were being sold. He said all of them were also supporting the sale of the HCU lands. He made it clear that the BJP would provide full support to the students' agitations. Union Minister said the people do not need a government that rules the State by selling off its lands.
BJP MP Etela Rajender said Hyderabad Central University was the capital of this State. He was angry that the Revanth government was thinking of selling HCU lands to pay off debts. He said the days were passing when there is no space for cemeteries and parks. He questioned as to why Revanth Reddy is taking such evil decisions. He said there was no progress except for retrograde decisions. He said that he strongly condemned the police attack on HCU students.
