Babu plays teacher at parents-teachers meeting, urges students to boost green cover

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday interacted with students, parents and teachers during the fourth Parents-Teachers Meeting at the Government Upper Primary School in Rampachodavaram, where he personally reviewed students' academic progress and called upon children to contribute to increasing Andhra Pradesh's green cover.

Stepping into the role of a teacher, the Chief Minister examined students' progress report cards and explained their academic performance, attendance and health details directly to parents, stressing the importance of parental involvement in education. He also directed the District Collector to ensure that report cards of students studying in residential ashram schools are delivered to their parents at their homes.

Naidu reviewed the use of smart boards in classrooms and appreciated students who have been nurturing saplings on the school campus. Officials informed him that each tree carries a QR code, enabling visitors to access information about the plant, while students have also been issued Green Passports to encourage environmental conservation. The Chief Minister urged students to continue protecting the trees they had adopted and play an active role in expanding the state's green cover.

During the interaction, several tribal mothers said the Talliki Vandanam scheme had reduced their financial burden by providing assistance for every child, enabling them to continue their children's education with greater confidence. They also praised improvements in government schools, citing better infrastructure, improved teaching standards and hygienic mid-day meals.

Education Minister Nara Lokesh informed the Chief Minister that eligible Anganwadi staff had also been brought under the Talliki Vandanam scheme. Earlier, the Chief Minister and the Minister received a traditional welcome from tribal women, paid floral tributes to freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju and offered prayers to Goddess Saraswati before participating in the programme. The event concluded with the leaders taking selfies with the tribal women.
