The Commissioner’s Task Force, Golconda Zone, along with Kulsumpura Police, busted an illegal food manufacturing unit in Jiyaguda on Saturday and arrested one person for producing substandard fenia/pheniyaan products in unhygienic conditions, putting public health at risk.

The accused, Dhanraj Puri, 36, a resident of Gowliguda and owner of JB Foods, was found manufacturing low-quality fenia without adhering to FSSAI guidelines. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the warehouse located near the Double Bedroom Houses in Jiyaguda, Hyderabad.

During the raid, officials seized substandard fenia in bulk quantities, including packed and loose stock, refined flour (maida), vanaspati (dalda ghee), loose ghee heated on stoves, 19 partially used gas cylinders, dough mixer machines and weighing machines. In total, authorities confiscated goods and equipment worth Rs. 3,98,590.

Police said the accused was using inferior raw materials such as low-grade maida and butter under unhygienic conditions and supplying the products to local stores to make illegal profits, thereby endangering consumers’ health.

A case has been registered under Cr. No. 61/2026 under Sections 318(4) and 275 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Kulsumpura Police Station. The raid was conducted under the supervision of senior officials of the Commissioner’s Task Force and Kulsumpura Police.
