In the alleged Tirumala Laddu and Prasadam adulteration case, accused number 5 Apoorva Chavda has reportedly told the Special Investigation Team(SIT) on Wednesday that the ghee supplied for the preparation of Prasadam was adulterated. During interrogation, he admitted that he had mixed chemicals in ghee after studying chemical engineering.
In this context the SIT felt that further investigation was needed to ascertain from where the chemicals were procured, how much quantity was used, and who was involved in it. The SIT’s lawyers had filed a petition in the Second Additional Munsiff Court in Tirupati seeking custody of Apoorva Chavada once again.
Along with him, custody of A3 Vipin Jain has also been sought. On behalf of the SIT, the local Assistant Public Prosecutor(APP) argued the case in the CBI court in Vijayawada. Meanwhile, the bail plea filed by Bholebaba Organic Dairy directors Vipin Jain (A3) and Pomil Jain (A4) has been withdrawn by their lawyers as per APP Jayaskekhar.
The lawyers said the bail plea was withdrawn as the custody petition was pending. Following this, Judge Koteswara Rao passed an order dismissing their petition. The court posted the matter for further hearing on April 27 for arguments on the bail plea filed by Apoorva Chavda and the custody petition filed by the SIT.
