Progress not possible without women: AP CM

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said on Saturday  that progress would not be possible without the participation of women. He participated in several programmes held at Markapuram in Prakasam district on the occasion of International Women's Day. Speaking on this occasion, he announced that the government's aim is to develop women in all fields on par with men in every household in the state. He also stated that the aim is to create an entrepreneur from every household and make the state a hub for women entrepreneurs.

He visited the stalls run by self-help groups. The women in the groups were asked for details about the products made. The CM launched the Shakti app set up by the police department. In addition, a handloom chariot was also inaugurated. The CM mentioned that the fibre making of banana and coconut waste will generate good income and suggested to focus on this. He stated that the products made by women should be of good quality and branding.

For women's safety, he also launched a programme to provide 760 e-bikes and 240 e-autos to 1,000 women in major cities, encouraging women riders. On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the Rapido women drivers who participated in the event. The CM disbursed loans worth Rs 1,826.43 crore to 14,705 SHGs. A cheque of Rs 1,000 crore was handed over for disbursement of “stree nidhi” loans.

The power in women is immense

Speaking at the meeting that followed, Chandrababu said that women are overtaking men in earnings by displaying immense potential. “According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey 2023-24, women's participation in the workforce has increased significantly. That is why we are also bringing in a work-from-home policy for women. We will bring in situations where women earn more than men sitting at home.

You have to excel in the world market.” The Chief Minister said.He informed that he wanted women to excel in the global market as well and his aim is to make everyone financially self-reliant and to create one lakh entrepreneurs in a year. He wished that women should be at the forefront of all spheres in the state and emerge as an economic power, and said that the state government will implement a number of initiatives to support women in the national and international platforms.
