Women leaders honoured in poultry sector

The Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA)–Poultry India celebrated International Women’s Day in Hyderabad, highlighting the growing role of women in leadership, entrepreneurship and participation in the poultry sector and allied industries.

The event brought together members of the poultry fraternity to recognise and encourage the contributions of women who are driving progress in the industry and strengthening communities through enterprise and leadership.

Special guests at the programme included Chevella Municipal Chairperson D. Samata Venkata Reddy, SR Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd. Director Seetha Ranjith Reddy and Dr. Kiraannmayye Addu, Chief Clinical Nutritionist and Lifestyle Consultant at BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals. They spoke about women’s empowerment, leadership and the importance of nutrition in building a healthier society.

The guests also interacted online with rural women entrepreneurs from the Kesla Poultry Society and appreciated their efforts in community-led poultry development.

Speaking on the occasion, IPEMA–Poultry India President Uday Singh Bayas and Treasurer M. Srikanth said women are increasingly contributing to the poultry ecosystem through entrepreneurship, farm management and allied services, strengthening rural livelihoods and communities.

IPEMA also announced that the 18th Poultry India Expo will be held in Hyderabad from November 25 to 27, 2026, with Knowledge Day scheduled for November 24.
