US President Trump shared an image of a $100 bill carrying his signature, months after the Treasury Dept announced plans to feature a sitting president’s signature on US paper currency to mark the 250th anniversary of the US. The image shows Trump’s sign above that of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. US currency has carried the signs of the treasury secretary and the treasurer of the US. Republican lawmakers have proposed legislation to feature Trump’s portrait on a commemorative $250 bill, though current US law permits only deceased individuals to appear on currency.
