Telangana has partnered with Resolute4IP to launch “RACHIT”, a WhatsApp-based Intellectual Property (IP) service that offers free counselling and guidance to MSMEs, startups, entrepreneurs, students and innovators on various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

The initiative aims to simplify access to IP-related information by allowing users to seek guidance through a WhatsApp chat. RACHIT provides support on patents, trademarks, geographical indications (GI), copyrights, industrial designs, trade secrets, plant varieties and other forms of intellectual property. The service can be accessed by sending a message to 9951100088 or through the dedicated online portal.

Speaking to Metro India, Subhajit Saha, popularly known as the “TG GI Man” and Founder of Resolute IP Services LLP, said the initiative was launched to help innovators and entrepreneurs better understand intellectual property and the procedures involved in securing protection for their ideas and creations.

“Students, startups and entrepreneurs often have questions regarding patents, trademarks and other IP rights but do not know where to begin. RACHIT is intended to provide free guidance and help them understand the importance of protecting their intellectual assets,” he said.

Saha said intellectual property rights can play a significant role in creating economic opportunities and strengthening livelihoods. He noted that many lives have improved through GIs and other forms of IP protection by giving recognition and value to unique products, traditional knowledge and innovations.

“Several products that received GI recognition have grown into strong brands and gained access to national and international markets. Such recognition helps artisans, weavers, farmers and entrepreneurs protect their identity, enhance market value and expand their reach. Intellectual property has the potential to take local products to global markets while creating sustainable livelihoods,” he said.

Resolute IP Services LLP, a DPIIT-recognised startup, has facilitated more than 1,000 IP filings for schools, startups, enterprises and entrepreneurs. Officials said the initiative will promote awareness, reduce filing errors and encourage a stronger culture of innovation across Telangana’s startup and MSME ecosystem.
