Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is set to return to the silver screens with his upcoming hardhitting courtroom drama, Kesari Chapter 2, and the film’s trailer was launched at an event in Mumbai on Thursday. During the event, the actor was seen giving a befitting reply to a journalist after she questioned his viral ‘F**k you’ dialogue from the teaser of the film.

The dialogue had sparked a debate online after the makers had dropped the teaser of the film, with several people questioning its authenticity and some claiming that it was used only to sensationalise the film. When a journalist asked a similar question at the trailer launch event on Thursday, Akshay decided to end the chatter once and for all.

“Yes, I used this word. Kamaal ki baat ye hai madam ki aapne ye cheez dekhi, lekin vo jo word use kiya tha -- “You’re still a slave” -- that was not a big gaali for you? I think usse badi gaali aur kuch nahi ho sakti,” the actor responded. He went on to say, “I would’ve been happy if you’d have said that they have used the word ‘slave’, rather than you talking about ‘f**k you’. Mere hisaab se agar aise time pe unhone goli bhi maar di hoti toh bhi chhota rehta.”

Kesari Chapter 2 is set in the aftermath of the gutwrenching Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919 when British officers open fired at the venue, killing hundreds of innocent men, women and children.  The incident is termed as one of the darkest chapters in India’s history. Kesari Chapter 2 also stars R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in lead roles. The film is set to hit the silver screens on April 18, 2025.
