SCR organizes lecture on ‘dispute resolution in railways with focus on arbitration’

South Central Railway(SCR) Vigilance Branch has organized a lecture on Friday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on the topic “Dispute Resolution in Railways with Focus on Arbitration”. Sudeshna Sen, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntur Division delivered the lecture. She provided insights into dispute resolution mechanisms in the Railways, with particular emphasis on arbitration and its practical application in railway functioning. 

Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR, along with other senior officers and staff from across the zone participated in the program. He stated that the subject of arbitration is of paramount importance in railway administration, as a significant number of contractual disputes in the Railways are dealt through arbitration. 

The session addressed the statutory timelines for completion of proceedings and the responsibilities of departmental officers in ensuring compliance. The lecture concluded with an interactive discussion, wherein participants gained valuable insights into best practices to deal arbitration cases.
