Safety remains top priority: South Central Railways General Manager

Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway while emphasizing on the safety aspect stated that, the safety should remain on top priority in train operations. He held a detailed review meeting on Safety of train operations across the Zone on Monday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR and Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.  

He instructed all the DRMs to focus on track fitness ensuring safety and said that the ballast on the tracks should be maintained as per the need in view of summer to maintain track temperature. He also said that the officials need to intensify the checks on unauthorized carrying of inflammables in the trains and surveillance to be strengthen at stabling yards, goods sheds by providing additional CCTVs.  He instructed the officials to speed up the construction of ongoing RUB works over the zone to ensure enhanced safety in train movements. 

The General Manager specially emphasized on the visibility of the signals at the curves and multi tracking areas over the zone. While discussing on the water logging issues at RUBs, the General Manager instructed the DRMs to address the water logging issue on priority basis and rectify the issue by adopting scientific methods and water pumping mechanism.
