In an interesting development while CM Revanth Reddy shared his wish list seeking Centre's assistance for Telangana projects, PM Narendra Modi also gave a report to Revanth Reddy that had details and information about pending issues between Centre and Telangana from 2017-2022 that needed attention. CM, for his part, assured Modi that he would hold a high-level review soon and take decisions on the details shared by Modi.

The Telangana government's efforts to secure central funding and support for its ambitious and flagship projects received a big boost as Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a wishlist on Wednesday. The CM urged the PM to approve several critical infrastructure projects, including the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II, Regional Ring Road and Rail, and Musi Rejuvenation Project, among others.

During the meeting, PM Modi highlighted key pending projects that require immediate attention from the Telangana government. The Prime Minister pointed out that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Grameen scheme has not been implemented in Telangana since 2016-17 and urged the state government to complete the survey by 31st March 2025 through the AWAAS 2018 mobile application.

He also advised the state to submit revised estimates for three critical irrigation projects—Chokka Rao Devadula Lift Irrigation Scheme, Rajiv Bima Lift Irrigation Scheme, and Sriram Sagar Project Phase-2—where clearances and permissions worth Rs 18,189.53 crore are pending with the state government.

Additionally, the Prime Minister requested the Telangana government to grant forest and environmental clearances for the construction of roads in Left Wing Extremism-affected districts.

In the health sector, the Prime Minister noted that Rs 1,365.95 crore is pending from the Telangana government for power connections and water supply to AIIMS Bibinagar. Additionally, Rs 150 crore is required for government land allocation for the construction of a 100-bed ESI hospital in Shamshabad.

On infrastructure, PM Modi pointed out that Rs 3,113.48 crore has been allocated for two major railway projects—Manoharabad-Kothapalli new railway line and Kazipet-Vijayawada third line—but electrification, land acquisition, and forest permissions have been pending since 2020.

In response, CM Revanth Reddy assured the Prime Minister that he would conduct a high-level review meeting with officials to assess the pending projects and take necessary action at the earliest.
