Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Forests and Environment Pawan Kalyan has ordered a comprehensive inquiry into alleged environmental violations in gravel excavation on revenue lands at Panchadarla Hill in Anakapalli district. He directed the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) to conduct a detailed investigation and submit a report.

Reviewing the preliminary findings submitted by the Anakapalli District Collector and APPCB officials, the Deputy Chief Minister said there was prima facie evidence that the mining company had violated environmental norms. He directed authorities to impose environmental penalties, initiate stringent action against the firm and ensure it bears the cost of ecological restoration.
