Only 3% CSR share for TG

Hyderabd: Telangana currently accounts for only about 3 percent of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions at the national level, officials informed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Expressing concern over the low share, the Chief Minister observed that several companies operating within the state are spending their CSR funds elsewhere, and stressed the need to ensure that industries established in Telangana prioritise CSR spending within the state.

To address this gap, the Chief Minister directed officials to design a comprehensive CSR policy focused on improving fund mobilisation and ensuring effective utilisation.

In a review meeting held on Thursday, CM emphasised that CSR resources should be aligned with key development priorities and public welfare initiatives across Telangana.

As part of the new approach, the government will establish a dedicated state level CSR Cell along with a special office to streamline coordination. This central mechanism will compile data on CSR activities undertaken by corporate entities, identify projects across government departments, and facilitate partnerships for better implementation of development programmes.
