National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) Telangana, in association with the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) Hyderabad Chapter, conducted a workshop to highlight the importance of integrating Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) services at the early stages of project planning for sustainable and efficient urban development.
The workshop, titled "Basic requirement of MEP services and coordination with Architects & other consultants", brought together the developers, architects, consultants and industry professionals to discuss best practices in infrastructure planning, water management and stakeholder coordination.
Experts stressed that early MEP planning helps avoid costly design changes, improves project efficiency and enhances long-term building performance. Sessions covered topics including utility planning, pumping systems, water treatment plants (WTPs), sewage treatment plants (STPs) and sustainable water management for large residential and commercial projects.
Speaking at the event, NAREDCO Telangana president K Sreedhar Reddy said quality infrastructure is as important as quality construction, adding that early integration of MEP systems is key to developing safe, efficient and sustainable buildings.
IPA Hyderabad chapter chairman P Sravan Kumar said many infrastructure issues stem from poor planning during the design phase and emphasised the need for stronger coordination among developers, architects and technical consultants to create resilient, future-ready projects.
The workshop concluded with interactive discussions on implementation challenges and strategies to improve collaboration among stakeholders, with NAREDCO Telangana reaffirming its commitment to promoting best practices in infrastructure planning and sustainable urban development.
