In a unique campaign move ahead of the municipal elections, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Excise Jupally Krishna Rao embarked on a bicycle outreach program on Saturday, urging citizens to embrace cycling as a step towards healthier lifestyles.

Cycling through multiple neighbourhoods, the Minister engaged with residents and highlighted the importance of incorporating physical activity into daily routines. He pointed out that modern life, dominated by sedentary habits and motorised transport, has led to rising lifestyle-related health issues.

“Cycling is a simple, low-cost, and effective exercise that strengthens the body, eases stress, and improves mental well-being,” Mr. Rao said. He also emphasised the environmental benefits, noting that regular use of bicycles can help reduce pollution and promote sustainable living.

The Minister called on Congress workers, local leaders, and citizens to set an example by making cycling a part of their everyday life. The initiative attracted participation from party leaders, local representatives, and residents, who welcomed the campaign enthusiastically. Many expressed interest in adopting cycling as a regular habit, viewing it as both a health-conscious and eco-friendly choice.
