The Chilkalguda Police Station has arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the alleged abetment of suicide of a 19-year-old woman in Secunderabad. The case has been registered under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

According to police, the victim was found hanging at her residence in Srinivas Nagar, Padmarao Nagar on March 17, following a complaint lodged by her father. Investigation revealed that the accused, identified as P. Jagadeesh, was in a relationship with the victim for several months.

Police said the accused had been suspecting the victim’s character, leading to frequent arguments. Shortly before her death, the victim sent a distress message to a friend of the accused. She later died by suicide.

Investigators said digital evidence, including Instagram chats, confirmed sustained harassment. The accused’s mobile phone has been seized for further analysis.
