Thousand of crores spent without approval of Legislature

MLC Teenmar Mallanna expressed serious concern over the expenditure of thousands of crores of rupees from 2014 to 2024 without the approval of the Legislature in Telangana and filed a complaint with Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy. He alleged that according to Article 204(3) of the Indian Constitution, withdrawing funds from the Consolidated Fund without the approval of the Legislature is completely illegal; however, for the past ten years, the government has been violating these rules and completely neglecting the budget system.

Citing the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports, Mallanna mentioned several key points. In the letter, it was mentioned that between 2014-15 and 2018-19, an additional expenditure of Rs 84,650.99 crore took place without the approval of the Legislature, which has not been regularized to date.  MLC Mallanna demanded that an inquiry be conducted immediately on this matter and also requested the Chairman to treat this matter as a "Breach of Privilege" and take action.
