Guru Nanak Educational Institute’s ‘Khel Mahotsav 2025’ (Sports Festival) was grandly celebrated on Friday at the campus of Guru Nanak Educational Institutions and Guru Nanak University.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, staff, and students, showcasing their passion for sports, team spirit, and sportsmanship.
After inaugurating the Khel Mahotsav, Sardar Gagan Deep Singh Kohli, Vice Chairman, Guru Nanak Educational Institutions and Chancellor of Guru Nanak University, emphasized that sports are not just about competitions but are the pillars of personality development, physical fitness, and mental strength. He encouraged everyone to cultivate courage, discipline, and leadership qualities through sports. He also stated that the sports festival would further strengthen the Guru-Shishya bond among students and faculty members.
The inauguration ceremony also featured the participation of the Managing Director of the college and Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak University, Dr. H S Saini.
He highlighted that sports not only enhance our health but also lay the foundation for success. The festival serves as a reminder to embrace sportsmanship, where winning brings pride and losing offers valuable lessons. This spirit fosters discipline and self-confidence in life. He extended his best wishes to all the students and staff who actively participated in the sports events.
Director of the Educational Institutions, Dr. S Sreenath Reddy, Joint Director, Dr. P Parthasarathi, Principal, Dr. K Venkata Rao, Director of the University, Dr. Sanjeev Srivastava, Registrar, Dr. Vishal Walia, Dr. Ranganayakulu, Dr. Rishi Syal, and other department heads also participated in the event.
The event featured a variety of sports competitions, with prizes, medals, and trophies awarded to the winners. The Chief Organizer of the event, Dr. Harish Kundra, delivered the closing speech, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor for gracing the occasion as chief guests.
