DEEP Trust has launched its “Happy Wheels” initiative to improve transport access for children with special needs, with a key highlight being the donation of an 18-seater TATA Winger school transport vehicle. The vehicle will be handed over to Sri Vidhyas Centre for Special Children, Hyderabad, at a special function scheduled on Wednesday, May 6, at Mahindra Hills in Secunderabad. The programme is supported through CSR funding from Hexagon AB/Octave.
The dedicated vehicle will address long-standing mobility challenges that impacted attendance, therapy access and continuity in education. It aims to enhance dignity, independence and accessibility for children, while reducing the burden on parents and caregivers.
DEEP Trust founders Dr. Rakesh Kalapala and Dr. Madhu Vasepalli, along with CEO Swati Mohanty, said the initiative reflects inclusivity and called for broader support to expand similar efforts.
