Ramesh Chand Meena, Principal Secretary to the Government of Gujarat, Consumer Affairs, Food & Civil Supplies Department, visited Telangana to review its civil supplies initiatives. He toured two Jan Poshan Kendras in Panjagutta and A.G. Colony and commended Telangana's foolproof e-POS system for efficient distribution of essential commodities.

D.S. Chauhan, IPS, Principal Secretary to the Telangana Government, briefed Meena on key reforms introduced in the Civil Supplies Department. He highlighted successful implementations of state flagship programs aimed at improving public distribution and paddy procurement.

Meena praised Telangana’s innovative policies to strengthen paddy procurement and plug systemic loopholes. He acknowledged the state’s initiatives, including fine paddy procurement with additional financial incentives, distribution of 'Sannabiyyam' (fine rice) under PDS, and LPG cylinder subsidies for eligible beneficiaries under the Mahalaxmi scheme.

A notable highlight of the visit was the appreciation for Telangana’s groundbreaking rice export to the Philippines on a G2G basis, a move demonstrating the state’s commitment to global trade and agricultural development.
