Six food companies have withdrawn misleading claims, changed trade marks or taken other corrective steps after receiving regulatory notices, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said in a post on X on Sunday.

FSSAI said the measures ranged from withdrawing misleading label claims to revising product packaging to ensure consumer safety and compliance.

Livyor Ventures withdrew the “vegan” and “healthy” claims on Livyor Roasted Edamame Beans, saying they were inadvertently printed because it was unaware of the applicable regulatory requirements. The company apologised, began revising labels and is destroying existing non-compliant packaging. Honest Innovations For You and Heliostone Specialities  changed their misleading trade marks.

Rajasthan Agro and General Industries removed all misleading claims and stopped using the PPM. Iota Nanotechnology removed misleading label claims and halted production of non-standardised water.

Meanwhile, Panchamurtha Industries delisted its electrolyte drink from its website. FSSAI has stepped up enforcement against Food Business Operators in recent months, including action against energy drink makers and alcoholic beverage manufacturers over violations.
