Mahabubnagar: Former Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy has alleged large-scale corruption in the name of the Pebber Santa market land. Addressing a press conference, he demanded the authorities should immediately put up a board declaring the market land as government property and officially take it over.
Niranjan Reddy clarified that the Pebber Santa land dispute, pertaining to Survey No. 392, has been ongoing in court for the past three decades between the landowners and the Endowments Department. He noted that the court delivered judgments in favor of the landowners in 2003, 2007, and 2022.
Niranjan Reddy explained that he had negotiated with landowners to provide 16 acres for the market, promising alternative agricultural land in return. He realled that during elections, his political opponents allegedly spread false propaganda accusing him of land grabbing.
He questioned whether those initiating such actions are the real encroachers, and asked how he could be labeled as one when he had sought to protect the market land without expecting any personal benefit.
