Fatwa issued against actor vijay for controversial iftar party in chennai

A fatwa has been issued against actor-turned-politician Vijay for his controversial iftar party that he had organised on March 7 in Chennai. A Sunni Muslim body in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, has accused the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief of disrespecting Islam and claimed that he invited alcoholics for iftar.
National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat and Chief Mufti of Chashme Darul Ifta, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilly, issued the fatwa against Vijay, and urged Muslims in Tamil Nadu to maintain distance from the actor and his “Muslim appeasing” tactics.
