Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Narayana on Thursday conducted an extensive field inspection of several ongoing infrastructure projects in the capital region, directing officials and contractors to expedite works and ensure timely completion.

As part of the visit, the Minister reviewed the construction of the crucial steel bridge that will connect the Seed Axis Road to the Old National Highway. This bridge is expected to play a vital role in easing traffic movement and improving connectivity between Vijayawada and Amaravati.

Narayana also inspected the progress of another major bridge being constructed over the Guntur Channel to provide seamless access to the Seed Axis Road. He closely examined the pace of work, quality standards and logistical challenges at both locations.

Expressing dissatisfaction over delays, the Minister instructed representatives of the contracting firms to accelerate the construction process. “These bridges are critical for the capital’s connectivity. Works must be completed at the earliest without compromising on quality,” he emphasised.

Later, the Minister visited the Vijayawada West Bypass project site to review its implementation status. National Highways authorities have already permitted traffic on one side of the bypass road. Narayana said efforts are underway to open the second carriageway at the earliest.
